dns_server_iconIf you've ever used the Internet, it's a good bet that you've used the Domain Name System, or DNS, even without realizing it. DNS is a protocol within the set of standards for how computers exchange data on the Internet and on many private networks, known as the TCP/IP protocol suite. Computers and other network devices on the Internet use an IP address to route your request to the site you're trying to reach. This is similar to dialing a phone number to connect to the person you're trying to call. Thanks to DNS, though, you don't have to keep your own address book of IP addresses. Instead, you just connect through a domain name server, also called a DNS server or name server, which manages a massive database that maps domain names to IP addresses.

What is DNS Server Work

When you enter a URL into a Web browser, the browser sends out a request to a Domain Name System (DNS) server to convert the domain name that the URL contains into an IP address. The DNS server can respond to that request in one of four ways:

  • If the DNS server already knows the IP address, it will respond back with that information.
  • It can connect to other DNS servers to look for the IP address in question.
  • It can redirect your request to another DNS server, such as a root DNS server, which holds more information.
  • It can respond that the domain name doesn't exist or is invalid.
The main function of the DNS is the translation of the human readable Domain Names to corresponding Internet protocol (IP) address. For example, just take our site address myblogger-tricks.com, and paste into browser address bar when you hit enter it, your web browser will send request to DNS server. The request will be processed by DNS server and Domain Name(myblogger-tricks.com) will be translated to IP address (our site hosted on Godaddy Server). After that URL will be processed and the response will be given. If there's a delay in contacting the DNS server, or if the DNS server takes too much time resolving the address, you'll face a delay in getting to a Web site. So even if you've got the world's fattest pipe, your Web surfing will be slowed down.

Why we need to use third party dNS on our computer

Increase the Performance and Webpage Speed
Just think that, If your DNS servers are very fast means, you will get the faster response. That is bit more speed in the loading of the webpage. If all you care about is speed, you may see an advantage from switching to a third-party DNS server — or you may not. To be sure, you should run a DNS benchmarking tool Namebench, which will make DNS requests to your current DNS server and other DNS servers, testing how long each server takes to respond.

For Greater Security
All DNS servers don’t offer the same features and so that many of them don’t offer better protection to prevent the vulnerabilities. Third-party DNS servers like OpenDNS and Google Public DNS also offer security features that haven’t yet been implemented by many ISP’s DNS servers. For example, Google Public DNS supports DNSSEC to ensure DNS requests are securely signed and accurate. Your ISP’s DNS servers may not yet implement such security features.

Protection For Malware and Phishing Pages.
OpenDNS also performs filtering to block phishing sites. Modern browsers have built-in phishing protection, but if you run a network that includes Windows XP computers running Internet Explorer 6, enabling OpenDNS will give all of these computers some identity theft protection they wouldn’t otherwise have.
Other DNS services don’t offer this feature. For example, Google Public DNS does not include any content-filtering features, as it aims to just function as a fast DNS service without any of the frills.

Checking-your-broadband-speed-onlineChecking your internet speed is helpful and a good idea to do periodically. If you are having a problem downloading or opening web pages, knowing how to check internet speed is handy for troubleshooting. There many factors that affect your speed of the internet such as DNS server request and response, crowded network etc. There are many third party software's available to test your internet speed. Here are a few bandwidth speed test meters where you can check the upload and download stats and other stats too. These three are reliable compare to other bandwidth test meters. SpeedTest.net also lunched applications for different mobile platforms you can it these apps on there website. Share and compare your speed results with friends quickly and easily or get a free Account to track multiple connections.
Most of the persons known about speedtest.net. This tool automatically connects to your server and downloads/uploads a file and calculates the average speed of download and upload and connection speed.

Why Your Mobile/Wifi Internet Speed is Less Then Computer

  • Differences in available bandwidth: Make sure that the tests don't overlap each other, as each test needs to have your entire bandwidth to itself. Additionally, make sure nothing else is downloading at the same time.
  • Differences in connection: Make sure the phone and your computer are actually testing on the same connection. You may have Wi-Fi turned off, and accidentally be testing your cellular speeds instead.
  • Differences in hardware: If you're both on a Wi-Fi connection, know that phones and tablets typically have less sophisticated Wi-Fi antennae than larger devices like laptops. Phones are can't reach the 5 Ghz frequency and supporting fewer "spatial streams" than modern laptops. These differences may negatively impact your phone's Wi-Fi speed, especially in areas of high interference on the 2.4 Ghz Wi-fi frequency. Even in ideal conditions, fastest phones may only reach 35 mbps over wifi.

Here's how to do it.

1. Close all applications before running the speed test. You don't want sluggish applications interfering with the measurement of your internet speed. Make sure your internet is connected.

2. Open your browser and in address bar write speedtest.net and press enter. You will also find a number of sources in Google search results.

3. and click on begin see screen shot below.
Click_on_begin

4. When speed test server complete there process it will show you complete information about your internet connection, Like Ping, Download Speed, Upload even your internet server location..
Note:- Remember there isn't a need to call your ISP (Internet Service Provider) if your speed isn't exactly what your service agreement says you have. All service varies somewhat from what's on paper. There are numerous aspects that affect internet speed. The speed of your home connection might well vary from one day to the next, and even throughout the day.

With app development fascination on the rise, Software Developers India (SDI) has been climbing to the top to deliver the best app solutions for your every need. Once you have finalized upon what kind of an application you want to develop and the level of complexity you can manage (remember that the cost of it increases with the level of complexity) you can choose your developer according to the service you need. We, SDI, are an award-winning Silicon Valley company based out of California. And we wish to provide you the best app solutions.

Don’t just jump on a quick decision when it comes to choosing your developers. The rapid rate at which iPhone app development companies are coming will obviously provide you with a large number of options. But there is always a chance of falling for the wrong one. You must have your own set of criteria for choosing companies, based on your requirements, budget, etc. Remember, that your requirements are yours alone. And you have to be very specific about extracting those unique requirements from the developers.

The ones you hire should understand your needs specifically and then provide you with the right kind of business solutions. So in a way, the organization you choose is basically your business client who applies the right kind of strategies needed for the functioning. Competitive analysis, social media strategies and user testing are some of the most important strategies that they usually focus on.

Now comes the design. Of course, there is no denying in the fact that you want your app to be the most attractive thing ever. This is where your company’s creativity cap is put on a test. Apart from the design being attractive in general, there are a couple things that have to be kept in mind. For example, visual palatability, interactive style guides and overall information architecture are some very important issues. These are some of the issues that they usually take care of.

Have you been through that reluctant phase where you didn’t know if your idea is at all presentable to the developers? You need not go through that unnecessary experience, as most of these companies offer a huge range of apps. Starting from business, education, social networking, entertainment, to travel, books, navigation, news, health and lifestyle. You just name it.

Your developers should also be efficient at project management. They would usually keep track of every minute progress of the project. They are also usually very careful about the deployment process. One small error in deployment can make the entire process go haywire.

Regular performance checks are quite mandatory to ensure best results post deployment. Carrying out is also an essential job of the company. As far as the time is concerned, developing an app is only a matter of a few hours. However, it also depends on the nature of the product you want.

We at SDI, are particular about the details of the development process. We have the best developers working for the benefits of each of our customers.

mobile-website-2

This is a Guest Post By Adeel Zia. Smartphones have brought great change in all fields of life especially the way we use internet. Their excellent features made them the best options to access internet for different purposes. However, the issue is that web pages take more time to get loaded when accessed via smartphones. This delay reduces the users’ interest and affects the traffic on web pages. Research has revealed that to maintain users’ flow, the web page should be loaded within less than one second. Different techniques are used to improve the loading of pages. Some of them are as follows:

Selection of language

While making website for mobile devices, first step is to choose a suitable language. WML, cHTML, and XHTML are most suitable options available for this purpose. XHTML is the latest version so it can be considered the best for the latest devices and is better than its primary version, which is HTML.

Use of emulator

Use smartphone emulator to learn about the smartphone users experience on your website. It is better as it provides a broader view about a range of mobile devices accessing your site by replicating the scenario. This will help you to manage the amount of data on your website along with improving loading speed of your site.

Web site layout

As mobile devices have less physical space for displaying contents so you should select a suitable layout of your site for its display on smartphone. Try to display only most useful information to your target user rather making your site a second copy of your full website. It will affect the loading time and obviously the users’ experience for sure.

Code optimization

Use of complex and inefficient JavaScript codes for web pages takes more time to execute and as a result increases the loading time of the page. It the best option to use efficient JS coding as ATF essence of the web page. It will improve the loading speed of the web pages for smartphones.

Efficient use of JS and CSS

Use of JS and CSS in web page development involves the need of downloading an external resource that includes downloading time and also increases the round trips to the server. All this slows down the loading of website. This can be handled by using JS and CSS coding efficiently in the content of web pages. The best way to manage is using JavaScript and CSS inline coding for ATF contents and external blocking in the rest of web contents.

Above the fold content

In this technique, some top contents load within less than one second to engage the users and rest of the page continues to load in background. You may maintain this feature by using HTML, CSS, and JS in your web pages. This approach is also known as critical rendering path.

Quick server Response

To load the website promptly on smartphones, one useful method is make server response faster. Reduction in server response time less than 200 milliseconds will improve the website loading time. Thus, you can say that the use of faster web server for mobile websites will enhance the loading speed for mobiles.

Less HTTP redirects

Avoiding HTTP redirects will increase the loading speed for web pages on smartphones, as each redirect enjoys a new trip to the server for respond and increases the loading time more than 1 second. Securing this waste of time will improve the performance.

Small ATF data

Mostly used protocol for internet is TCP, which takes a slow start for data transmission when receives a request. It initially sends maximum 10 packets in its latest versions and after getting acknowledgement from users, utilizes the full available bandwidth for data transmission. Below 14K ATF data increases the site loading speed as above the content data is sent in early packets under TCP protocol and engages the user.

This post is written by Adeel Zia. A blogger and social media marketing nerd, his main interest is internet marketing and SEO monitoring.

3. Click Save.
4. Drag to reposition the gadget below the header.
Click Save and view your blog. You should see a functional menu installed.
Try hovering the tabs, make sure the dropdowns appear.
You may delete or add menu or sub menu(up to multi levels). Make sure you add/remove the relevant code completely i.e. starting from the opening tag until the closing tag. Do the changes very carefully.

Renaming and adding the links

As you can see, the dropdown menu HTML is mainly consisted of unordered lists (ul) and list items (li).
Below is a code snippet for one of the category.

Home

To rename the category, simply replace Home with your own text. As for the link, just replace # with the Page intended URL.
Hope you enjoyed with this tutorial, don’t forget to tell thanks and leave a comment :) Enjoy..!!

Social_sharing_for_bloggerSocial media buttons is a great way to boosting your blog traffic. The shares of your blog content made through these social buttons circulate over different social networks will help your blog engaged with long term traffic. Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest all offer JavaScript that they'd LOVE for you to add to your site. Tracking is one of the reasons that they'd love you to add these. That may or may not be a strong reason not to add their JavaScript, but a concrete reason not to is speed. When you add three services' JavaScript you're adding three DNS lookups, three (or 20) HTTP requests for their JavaScript and images, and on and on. That JavaScript has to execute as well, of course, but the value it provides isn't justified over the speed and hassle involved in our opinion. We add just one third party (addtoany) script in this widget. I wanted to add social sharing links without adding JavaScript. Fortunately all these services support sharing via simply visiting a URL. Stated differently, you can share via an HTTP GET. This widget uses a total of 9 Icons but believe it or not it is super-fast and loads with in seconds.

Now lets add them below each post in blogger

  1. Go to Blogger Dashboard > Select the Blog > Go to Template page of the Blog
  2. Click Edit HTML button.
  3. and Add the Following CSS Code before </b:skin>
div#social-sharing   {
width:550px;
height: 90;
background: radial-gradient(center center, circle cover, #ffffff, #f9f9f9);
background: -o-radial-gradient(center center, circle cover, #ffffff, #f9f9f9);
background: -ms-radial-gradient(center center, circle cover, #ffffff, #f9f9f9);
background: -moz-radial-gradient(center center, circle cover, #ffffff, #f9f9f9);
background: -webkit-radial-gradient(center center, circle cover, #ffffff, #f9f9f9);
padding:10px;
margin:0 auto;
border: 1px solid #999;
border-radius:5px;
-webkit-border-radius:5px 5px 5px 5px;
-moz-border-radius:5px 5px 5px 5px;
-webkit-transition: all 0.6s ease-out;
-moz-transition: all 0.6s ease-out;
-o-transition: all 0.6s ease-out;
-ms-transition: all 0.6s ease-out;
transition: all 0.6s ease-out;
}
div#social-sharing:hover {
-webkit-box-shadow: 1px 1px 3px #CCC inset;
-moz-box-shadow: 1px 1px 3px #CCC inset;
box-shadow: 1px 1px 3px #CCC inset;
}
#social-sharing img {
width: 35px;
padding: 5px;
border: 0;
box-shadow: 0;
display: inline;
opacity:1;
filter:alpha(opacity=1); /* For IE8 and earlier */
}
#social-sharing img:hover {
-webkit-transition: all 0.6s ease-out;
-moz-transition: all 0.6s ease-out;
-o-transition: all 0.6s ease-out;
-ms-transition: all 0.6s ease-out;
transition: all 0.6s ease-out;
opacity:0.6;
filter:alpha(opacity=60); /* For IE8 and earlier */
}
.social-sharing-title {
text-align: center;
padding: 3px 10px 2px 0px;
margin: 0 0px 0 0;
color: #8d0303; text-transform: uppercase;
line-height: 25px;
vertical-align: middle;
font-size: 14px;
}

You can replace the Statement Text Color Highlighted in Red. You can also change the Background width by changing the width: 550px; highlighted above in yellow color.

4. Next, locate the Second instance of <data:post.body/> tag and paste the following code Below/after it:

center>

5. See Preview before saving.

Note:- The buttons will only appear on post pages. We place this limit because the
Pin-it button only pins the page on which it appears. As such on homepage (if we were to allow it there), every instance of the button will pin the homepage, not the post (as it’s “supposed” to).

label_cloud_widget_styleTag Clouds are used to display all the categories or labels present in a blog. The inherent design of this widget in Blogger is very minimal and has a lot of space for creativity. In this post we will be showing Label Widget designs which you can easily integrate within your blog. We will design our labels like 3D buttons which will be looking attractive more than the default style. CSS3 Gradients and Box-Shadow properties are also used to give more stylish and puppy look to blogger labels. By default blogger comes with strange design they don’t look beautiful. You can customize your Label widget by adding some CSS3 codes. I hope you will like this. It has animated hovering effect and it will not get more space from your sidebar. We can't give you a demo for this tutorial. But you can see preview in description image.

Add it to blogger

1. Go To Blogger Dashboard>> Your blog >> Layout>> Add a Gadget >> Labels.
2. Now make the settings which are shown in the screenshot below.

blogger_labels_widget

3. Select the Cloud from the labels display setting.
4. Uncheck the Show number of post per label.
5. save it by pressing orange button.

1. Add Style Sheet for Making it Attractive

1. Go to template editor>> EDIT HTML: (Make a template backup before editing)
2. Find the following code in your HTML.

background: -webkit-gradient(linear, left top, left bottom, color-stop(0%,rgba(0,100,180,1)), color-stop(100%,rgba(20,60,100,1)));
background: -webkit-linear-gradient(top,  rgba(0,100,180,1) 0%,rgba(20,60,100,1) 100%);
background: -o-linear-gradient(top,  rgba(0,100,180,1) 0%,rgba(20,60,100,1) 100%);
background: -ms-linear-gradient(top,  rgba(0,100,180,1) 0%,rgba(20,60,100,1) 100%);

filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient( startColorstr='#0064b4', endColorstr='#123d60',GradientType=0 );
display:inline-block;border: 1px solid #005ca6;padding:0 8px; color:#fff!important; height:28px; line-height:28px; text-transform:capitalize; text-decoration:none;float:left;margin-top:5px; font-size:14px;-webkit-transition:all .4s ease-in-out;-moz-transition:all .4s ease-in-out;-o-transition:all .4s ease-in-out;-ms-transition:all .4s ease-in-out;transition:all .4s ease-in-out;text-shadow: 0 -1px -1px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.2);

fast_loadingGoogle recently introduced an asynchronous version of their AdSense ad JavaScript code. The asynchronous ad code is a fully asynchronous version of the AdSense ad code that offers improved web inactivity and a better user experience for your blog readers. The advantage of they load in parallel and do not block other parts of your web page from loading. This means that users will be able to load the content of your pages, even if they’re having trouble loading the ads. Mobile users in particularly will enjoy less inactivity when loading web pages.
When you create your ads code , Now you have the option to choose the new asynchronous ad code. Select "Asynchronous BETA" from the Code type drop-down in the “Ad code” box. Once you’ve Create your asynchronous code, copy and paste the code into your page’s HTML source code just as you would with the current ad code. Need More Help Follow the steps below.

The New asynchronous code Look Like This

    <ins class="adsbygoogle"
        style="display:inline-block;width:300px;height:250px"
        data-ad-client="ca-pub-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"
        data-ad-slot="6440411535"></ins>

Here's how to implement the asynchronous ad code.

Step 1. Add Google Ads Script in your head Section

1. Go to your blog dashboard
2. Then go to Template>> EDIT HTML and add this script before/above
tag.

You only need to add it once, even if you have more then 1 ads.

Step 2. Replace your old ad codes with new asynchronous ad code

1. Find your ad code in your template and note its ID.
2. Go to your adsense account Visit the My ads tab, find your ad unit (based on the ID) in the list, and click Get code.
3. Select "Asynchronous" from the Code type drop-down list.
4. Copy the code by clicking anywhere in the Ad code box and paste it over your existing ad code.
5. Remove the first line as it is already added in Part 1.
6. Repeat steps above for each ad unit.

Troubleshooting

If ads are not showing on your site within 48 hours after you've added the asynchronous code, you should make sure that the ad code is correctly implemented in your site. If new code correctly implemented then, please first try clearing your browser cache and deleting your cookies before trying to access your site again. For more information about why ads may not display on your website after correctly adding the asynchronous code, see in Google adsense help section ads are not showing.

For any further help please feel free to post your queries in the comment box below. Cheer:).

WorldIt's important to choose the right time zone and language for your blog, so that your posts appear with the correct dates, times and language. Also, if your time zone is incorrect, Blogger may think some posts are dated in the future, in which case they wouldn't be published. Everyone has their own preferences for what they would be using and what they would not. By default, Blogger dashboards come up with the English language. which can be changed easily to any other languages like Spanish, French, Arabic, Urdu, Hindi and etc. Our First Step is changing a time zone and in second step is for changing language.

Change Blogger Default Time Zone

You can change the time zone of your blog by going to the Settings | Language and formatting tab, and changing the setting for Time Zone under the "Formatting" section. Choose the correct option from the list, and click the orange button at the top to save your settings. Like Screenshot below.
